Tara and Jeff’s ceremony was held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church on Sullivan’s Island with their reception taking place downtown at the Carolina Yacht Club. The Blue Dogs kept the party going until late into the night when guests were treated to a candy bar before heading out for a sparkler exit! Tara’s good friend, Stacey of Red Letter Events, worked her magic to create a gorgeous day for a gorgeous bride!

Nicole and Michael were married in an intimate ceremony on the second floor of Charleston’s Wickliffe House. Afterwards the couple and their guests headed downstairs for dinner and drinks and then a late night romp in a star-dappled tasseled tent. Out of Hand Events created an enchanted evening that everyone truly enjoyed!

I just picked up the premiere issue of Southern Wedding Style Magazine. It’s beautiful pages are full of real southern weddings, glamorous design tips, and endless wedding resources. I love it!

Magnolia Plantation was the perfect setting for this couple’s wedding. Jane, a ballerina with the Charleston Ballet, together with Out of Hand Events planned a perfect whimsical summer-evening fete. After the ceremony we took advantage of the the plantation’s lush green grounds. I love some of the spots we came across for photographs!

Robin and Winfield were married in the cozy little waterfront town of McClellanville, SC. Stacey of Red Letter Events planned the perfect backyard waterfront affair. The couple and their guests relaxed beneath the ground’s beautiful oak trees and danced to bluegrass music until the couple slipped away where they left on boat, cruising past the area’s many notorious shrimping boats.

A little rain didn’t stop this bride for her bridal portrait. After going back and forth all week Jane and I decided to go ahead on her bridal portrait. As soon as we showed up on location on Daniel Island the rain started softly falling. Offering to reschedule and try again, Jane opted to work around the rain! We shot on a beautiful brick porch and then after the rain cleared up we strolled around the island shooting against its elegant natural backdrops. In the end, we both agreed the rich cool evening made for a great shoot!

I absolutely love doing maternity portraits - I love round pregnant bellies. Benjamin Franklin once said “A ship under sail and a big-bellied woman are the handsomest two things that can be seen common.” I couldn’t agree with him more. Melanie and her husband Sean are expecting their first TWO! Melanie is pregnant with two identical girls - her belly is really one of the most beautiful bellies!

Photographing a newborn baby is always a special treat! Baby Emerson was born 6 weeks ago. She stayed awake for half of the shoot before we cooed her to sleep so we could get fingers and toes shots.

Mary and Douglas were married on Valentines Day at Charleston’s gorgeous William Aiken House. Melissa from A Charleston Bride put together an elegant Valentine-inspired event for the happy couple. Guests enjoyed an intimate candle-lit dinner before heading outside for some after-dinner drinks and dancing.
